Methodology
Planting Seeds for Tomorrow, always operates under a student-first relationship focused model. Our success rests on adhering to three basic strategies:
- Gain and maintain a detailed and realistic understanding of our students’ abilities, needs, goals, and desires.
- Hire only the most qualified tutors and continuously invest in attracting, developing, and retaining these tutors.
- Enable our tutors and students to develop strong working relationships by providing effective matching, ongoing training, consistent structure, and strict accountability.
- The leadership team at PST Learning has extensive experience with tutoring in multiple subject areas.
- PST Learning leadership takes a hands-on approach to hiring and training tutors. Every tutor is hired directly by the company founder & HR team, using an individualized screening, hiring, and placement process, ensuring strict tutor quality control.
- A rigorous onboard training and orientation process ensures every tutor is prepared, professional, and engaged with students by day one. Ongoing “just in time” training and feedback is provided on a site-by-site basis by our lead tutors, who represent the most qualified, experienced, and trained tutors in our organization. In addition to the industry standard progress monitoring practices and required tri-monthly documented site visits, regular unannounced tutor “observations” by company leadership ensure authentic, hands-on monitoring of tutoring services across the board.
- We aim for an exit strategy for students to eventually “get out” of tutoring and become independent learners. Independent learning is encouraged from day one by involving and collaborating with our students in setting shared learning goals for the academic year. Our tutors work together with our students to develop study skills, which enables students to reflect on and solve problems independently. We build self-confidence by encouraging students to analyze subjects in a deeper, analytical manner so they can develop critical thinking skills. To build resilience, we supply them with assignments that go beyond testing their knowledge and comprehension of a subject.
